ER Ratings - Energy ratings listed on water heaters, boilers, dishwashers, etc. are misleading because they show the energy costs for one year. The dollar amounts referred to are for brand new units without calcium deposit build up. These numbers can be doubled in as little as six months depending on the calcium content in the water.
